 Child rescued from Rangpur 4 days after abduction, arrested-2

Four days after being abducted from Savar, Savar Model Police have rescued a two-and-a-half-year-old boy named Amena Akter from Rangpur. Meanwhile, a couple demanding ransom for kidnapping the child has been arrested.

The arrested are Ashraful Islam, son of Aliar Hossain of Baripara village under Jaldhaka police station in Nilphamari district and his wife Shamsur Nahar, daughter of Delwar Hossain of Sholagari village under Shibganj police station in Bogra district.

Savar Model Police said Asadul Islam, a garment worker, lives with his family in the West Bank Town area of ​​Savar Municipality. On September 15, a woman named Shamsur Nahar, their neighbor, went to the store to buy chocolates with Asadul's two-and-a-half-year-old daughter. He later called Asadul's mobile phone and demanded a ransom of Tk 1 lakh saying that the girl had been abducted. Otherwise he was threatened to be killed and his body disappeared. On the same day, the abducted child's father Asadul filed a general diary at Savar Model Police Station.

Saiful Islam, Inspector (Investigation) of Savar Model Police Station, said, "When we were informed about the abduction and ransom of the child, raids were carried out in Rangpur, Nilphamari, Bogra and Gaibandha." After three days of continuous efforts, with the help of information technology, it was possible to locate the abductors in the Rangpur Modern Junction area.

The abductors Shamsur Nahar and her husband Ashraful were arrested in a raid in the area on Friday afternoon and the abducted child Amena Akhter was rescued unharmed. Later that night, the rescued child was brought to Dhaka and handed over to his parents. A case has also been filed against the arrested at Savar Model Police Station.
