A mobile court has fined five onion traders Tk 120,000 for selling onions at exorbitant prices in Dakpara area of ​​Jamalpur city and not displaying the price list in the yard.

The fine was imposed under Section 37 of the Consumer Protection Act 2009. 

Ariful Islam, Assistant Director, Department of Consumer Protection, MM Sabuj Rana, Company Commander, RAB-14 and Anwar Hossain, Squad Commander were present during the conduct of the mobile court.

To control the onion market, the district administration, consumer protection department and law enforcement agencies are operating mobile courts in different hat-bazaars of the district. Jamalpur Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Farida Yasmin confirmed the news.

গতকাল বুধবার বিকালে জামালপুর সদর উপজেলা নির্বাহী অফিসার ফরিদা ইয়াছমিন সদরের নান্দিনাতে ও জাতীয় গোয়েন্দা সংস্থা এনএসআই এর তথ্যের ভিত্তিতে জেলা প্রশাসনের নির্বাহী ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট মো. ইবনুল আবেদিনের নেতৃত্বে এই অভিযান পরিচালনা করে র‌্যাব-১৪।
জামালপুর র‌্যাব-১৪ জানায়, অভিযানে আলহাজ জহুরুল হক কাঁচা মার্কেটে অতিরিক্ত মূল্যে পেঁয়াজ বিক্রি ও মূল্য তালিকা প্রদর্শন না করার অভিযোগে সিয়াম সিনান এন্টারপ্রাইজের ব্যবস্থাপক শফিকুল ইসলামকে ৩০ হাজার টাকা, মেসার্স ভাই ভাই ট্রেডার্সের সত্বাধিকারী আব্দুল জলিলকে ৩০ হাজার টাকা এবং মেসার্স দিদার এন্টারপ্রাইজের সত্বাধিকারী দিদারুল আলমকে ৩০ হাজার টাকা ও নান্দিনা বাজারের ২ ব্যবসায়ীকে জরিমানা করা হয়।
