Lalmonirhat: The miscreants have threatened to blow up the Lalmonirhat district jail with letters and mobile phones to take away their brothers. Besides strengthening security, the jail authorities have lodged a GD with the police station. Prison authorities filed a general diary (GD) with the Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station on Sunday (September 13) night. Last week, a flying letter was sent to the jail superintendent and deputy commissioner of Lalmonirhat jail. In the letter, the miscreants threatened to blow up the jail and snatch the fellow brothers. The administration took note of the letter and started investigation into the incident along with strengthening the security of the jail. Meanwhile, on Saturday (September 12) afternoon, jail superintendent Kishore Kumar Nag received a similar threat by calling from a Teletalk number. It was said that their brothers would be released from prison at any cost. The prison will be blown up. After such a call on the mobile phone, the security of the prison road and its surroundings is strengthened. The matter came to light when security was suddenly tightened.

Lalmonirhat Deputy Commissioner Abu Jafar said, "I received a letter from him and the jail superintendent last week with such a threat." After that, when the jail super was threatened on his mobile, GD was made. The whole matter is being investigated. He also said that security has been tightened in the jail.
