 RAB has arrested a youth in Comilla on charges of attempting to destroy religious harmony and spreading rumors against the government through social media.

The arrested youth's name is Shahriar Nafiz Emon. He is the son of Emdad Hossain of Bhaterswar village under Barura police station of the district.

This information was given by RAB-11, CPC-2, Comilla Company Commander Major Talukder Nazmush Shakib on Monday (September 14) afternoon.
He said the RAB conducted a special operation in the Ashrafpur area of ​​Comilla's Sadar Dakshin police station. During the operation, a young man named Shahriar Nafiz Emon was arrested on charges of attempting to disrupt religious harmony through social media and spreading rumors against the government to destabilize the law and order situation in the country. A mobile phone was recovered from him at that time. The accused arrested with that mobile phone used to operate three to four Facebook IDs. He is also the admin of several Facebook pages.

He further said that various false, misleading rumors and defamatory propaganda about the government have been found from his various Facebook pages, including attempts to destroy religious harmony through social media.
